I have always understood that there is a

- he question of principle involved in Mr. Lee-Jones's case not being a cadet - as to which, being eventually a matter for the Government, I should be loth to say anything.

But that does not prevent me saying that

I should be pleased if his request could be taken into favour- -able consideration. I have, during 34 years, found Mr. Lee Jones a very painstaking, and hard-working officer. He is always ready to give me assistance; and I wish to note especial- -ly that the intelligent way in which he follows cases in Court when he is acting as Registrar enables him to give me valuable assistance and information of which I often stand in need.
